About Us

The Young Boy Awake (YBA) is a Zambian non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering the boy child through education, mentorship, and healthcare.

We believe that every boy deserves equal opportunities to succeed and thrive, and we work to address the imbalance in support often observed between boys and girls.

Our Mission

To transform the boy child into a responsible adult by providing access to education, healthcare, and mentorship, fostering a community where boys are supported, valued, and equipped to reach their full potential.

Our Vision

A society where the boy child is empowered, supported, and free from neglect, discrimination, or societal bias

What We Do

Education: Literacy programs, tuition support, and skills development.

Mentorship: Life skills guidance, character development, and role modeling.

Healthcare & Well-being: Mental health awareness, counseling, and support services.

Why We Exist

Boys in Zambia often face neglect in programs that primarily target girls, leaving them vulnerable to educational gaps, mental health challenges, and limited opportunities. YBA works to create a balanced support system that ensures boys are equally equipped for success.

We welcome partners, donors, volunteers, and allies to join us in our mission.

Together, we can create lasting change for the boy child.
